BOISE (KTVB) -- Traffic was tied up for several hours on westbound Interstate 84 near Eagle Road Tuesday night as police investigated four crashes involving eight vehicles.

Idaho State Police were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m.

Troopers say 35-year-old Michael Trombley of Meridian was westbound in a 1998 Subaru Legacy when he struck the median Jersey barrier. The Subaru then struck a 1997 Ford Ranger being driven by 23-year-old Bryant Diaz of Nampa. The Subaru then hit a 2000 Chrysler 300 that was on the right shoulder with a flat tire.

Police say that crash caused a chain reaction involving several other vehicles including a 2005 Chrysler 300, 2004 Chevy Cavalier, a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, a 2000 Chevy C15 and a 2013 Kia Soul.

Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt and no one was taken to the hospital.

Three westbound lanes of I-84 were blocked for about two hours while crews worked to remove the wreckage.
