With the population of Twin Falls expected to more than double in ten years water is becoming crucial. Another one million people may be settling along the length of the Snake River in Southern Idaho. Many people, one dry desert. Where will the water come from to grow crops, flush toilets and fill bathtubs?

Twin Falls City Councilman Don Hall discussed with us today some early planning to lay the groundwork for a plentiful supply. If you tuned in to Top Story yesterday you also heard Steve Millington discussing state efforts to ensure water for farms, industry and households.

Recently I spoke with a fellow broadcaster in California. He outlined the crisis in our neighboring state. We definitely don’t want to repeat the Sunshine State experience. Councilman Hall’s remarks are available in the enclosed video.
