On Election Day most people can easily pick between candidates because they’ve formed opinions about the people they’ve seen and/or met.  Ballot issues are another matter. 

Most of Idaho’s leading Republicans are behind the amendment. Attorney General Lawrence Wasden is the most prominent among opponents in the GOP.

This year the voters in Idaho are being asked to approve a constitutional change.  It would give legislators greater say in cancelling regulations created by state agencies.  Most of Idaho’s leading Republicans are behind the amendment.  Attorney General Lawrence Wasden is the most prominent among opponents in the GOP.  He points out the people rejected the measure two years ago.

I’m not sure where I yet stand.  The Wall Street Journal explained last week our state legislators already have wide latitude in vetoing regulations.  On Top Story I spoke with Tom Munds about HJR 5.  Tom is the state director for the John Birch Society but wasn’t representing JBS in offering his views.  Tom spoke as a private citizen who very much like me is looking for answers before Election Day.  Our conversation is included in the video from the show.
