A View of Governor Otter’s Hansen Visit

A friend in Connecticut suggests we clone Governor “Butch” Otter and send him east.

My friend is formerly a Democrat and weary of his current liberal Governor.  Otter takes plenty of abuse from some Idaho Republicans who don’t believe he’s truly conservative (try living with eastern liberals!)  What we mean when we criticize many fellow Republicans is they don’t agree with us all of the time on all of the issues we hold dear.

Many years ago, I took an online test of candidates who were my best match.  Pat Buchanan topped my list at 51% in common.  Dick Cheney at 48% was number two.  Heck, 15 years ago the test claimed Hillary Clinton matched my views 32% of the time!

Last week, I attended a day-long town hall style meeting the Governor conducted in Hansen.  It’s the subject of my weekly newspaper column.
