I keep a case of bottled water in the trunk as part of my Winter Emergency Preparedness Kit. I find it’s best to keep these wrapped in a blanket so they don’t freeze.
Emergency Blankets
Should something happen and you’re stuck in your car, these lightweight blankets will help keep you warm. These are especially important if you have children.
If you’re in an emergency situation, it’s likely that something bad put you there. Make sure you can take care of yourself and your loved ones with a first-aid kit. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, but this one is a must in your emergency kit.
Emergency Baby Supplies
Jack’s not a baby anymore, but this was always have in the kit. Extra baby supplies like formula, bottles, diapers, wipes, and maybe a special blanket for the little one will make all the difference.
Before this nifty device, I used to have a flashlight, radio, and extra batteries. Now I have this: it’s a flashlight, NOAA radio, and a cell phone charger all powered by a hand crank. No batteries required. This way your lifeline: your mobile phone is charged, or can be charged, to call for help.
