Now might be the time to make nice with your friends in Salt Lake City. According to a new survey, Utah tends to spend big bucks on Christmas gifts. What about Idaho? Not so much.

Call us Idaho people cheap if you want to, but I'd prefer to think of us as "frugal"

Wallet Hub did a breakdown of what states spend when it comes to holiday budgets. Several cities in Utah rated among the highest in the entire country. Sandy, Utah came in the highest at #71 averaging a whopping holiday budget of over $1,100. Layton also spends over $1,000 on holiday stuff apparently.

What about us cheapskates in Idaho? Meridian registered the highest (if you want to call it that) in our state at #266 spending just over $600 on Christmas. Nampa was the only other Idaho city that made the top 500.

I see this as a positive. Call us Idaho people cheap if you want to, but I'd prefer to think of us as "frugal".
