Albertsons Remains Idaho’s Top Grocery

Albertsons remains Idaho’s most popular grocery chain.  There are inroads by Walmart, but Albertsons remains king across much of the Northwest.

Chowhound looked at every state and measured receipts (many people shop by debit card) and came to some conclusions about shopping habits.

Whole Foods is dominant in a few states with high urban and suburban concentrations.  Kroger is popular in the Ohio Valley and parts of the Midwest.  We should note Kroger owns several other groceries under different names, including a couple in Twin Falls.  And, in some neighboring states, Safeway is number one but is Albertsons with simply another label.
