I suppose I can never prove it, but I believe chip seal cost me 171 dollars.  A 7-month-old tire on my car split between a sidewall and the tread.

Why do I blame chip seal on Twin Falls streets?  Because the exact same thing happened to a tire of mine last year shortly after the topping went down on local streets.  I’m told by a member of our Top Story audience chip seal is cheap and efficient.  Not for me!  I wrote a newspaper column about my dilemma and it created quite a lot of discussion on-air Tuesday.
