Allen and Co. Begin Annual Tech and Media Shindig in Sun Valley

SUN VALLEY, Idaho (AP) — Leaders of some of the world's top technology and media companies are scheduled to gather this week in Sun Valley for the annual Allen & Co. conference.

The Idaho Mountain Express reports the private investment bank's five-day retreat is scheduled to begin on Tuesday in the mountain resort town. Past attendees include Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda; Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and investment banker Warren Buffet. The meetings are closed to the public and the press.

After last year's conference, Bezos purchased The Washington Post. In addition to meetings, conference attendees take advantage of the recreational opportunities available in south-central Idaho.
