BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities at the Boise Airport for the second time in less than a week discovered a loaded handgun at a security checkpoint. The Transportation Security Administration says a worker using an X-ray examination of a carry-on bag spotted the weapon at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Agency spokeswoman Lorie Dankers tells the Idaho Statesman that the .32-caliber Czech CZ-70 pistol had 10 rounds of ammunition, including one in the chamber. The passenger heading for San Francisco received a misdemeanor citation for having a firearm in a restricted area. A name wasn't released. Police took the weapon as evidence but the owner will be able to reclaim it at a later time. Besides a potential criminal fine, the passenger also faces a civil penalty of $3,000 to $7,500 from the TSA.
