KING HILL, Idaho (KLIX) An Arizona man is behind bars for a string of burglaries and car thefts that stretch from Hagerman to King Hill.

According to the Elmore County Sheriff's Office, Robert Valenzuela, of Mesa, AZ, was arrested Wednesday night in the King Hill area. According to reports from people in the area, Valenzuela broke into a car and ransacked the glove box. A witness told police the man tried to steal their car.

Valenzuela allegedly drove to a neighbor's home in a red car and stole another car from the driveway. A deputy later found a car matching the description with Valenzuela behind the wheel; he was arrested and a dog that was with him taken to an animal shelter.

Deputies later learned another vehicle was broken into and the red car was reported stolen from the Hagerman area. Most of the stolen property was returned to their owners. Valenzuela is facing charges of grand theft, receiving or transferring stolen vehicles and several counts of burglary.
