Three PTA Moms Made 14 Million Dollars

I think we have all bought an entire pan of brownies in hopes of helping the PTA. It seems like every week there’s another candy sale, or bake sale . . . or illegal Ponzi scheme?

According to Philly.com three PTA moms have been arrested for running a Ponzi scheme that earned more than 14 million dollars at Neil Armstrong Elementary School in suburban Los Angeles.

Hot Dog Eat-Off Roundup

I personally can’t watch the

annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest…but that doesn’t mean ESPN didn’t cover the entire contest yesterday, in Coney Island, New York.  There were some twists this year, though.  Here’s the full rundown for your gorging pleasure . . . 

The New York Daily News reported the winner for the fifth straight year, 27-year-old JOEY CHESTNUT of San Jose, California won the contest.  He ate SIXTY-TWO hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes.  It was easily enough for the win but fell short of his world record of 68

What Would You Do If You Found $17,000?

Have you ever found a lost wallet or a BIG bag of money? For the most part everyone knows that if you find some one’s wallet you return it so they don’t lose their mind looking for it, right? But, what if you found $17,000.00…would you return it?

Chicago Tribune printed a story that on June 6th, 54-year-old Robert Adams of Arlington Heights, Illinois, found a Chase Bank bag of cash near an ATM in a Walgreens.  The bag contained almost $17,000.

Checking Your Email While On Your Honeymoon

We have all had that moment when you are trying to be romantic with your spouse and all they want to do is send a text message or read an email on their i-pad. According to a new Harris poll from Business News Daily , one out of six people say they would DEMAND to bring their laptop or iPad along on their honeymoon.

There’s more.  48% of people say they’re unhappy when they’re in bed without a computer, smartphone, or tablet.  36% need one when they go shopping with their spouse.  29% need one at a sporting event.

We all love the fourth of July, and we know where the biggest fireworks displays are, but have you ever wondered how much we spend on the 4th of July.

#1.) Americans spend $111 MILLION on popsicles and charcoal for July 4th weekend.

#2.) Americans spend $203 MILLION just on CONDIMENTS for July 4th.  That’s more than the $193 MILLION we spend on hamburger patties.

Only 4% of Women Think the Woman Should Be In Charge of Buying a Car

When you bought your last car, who made the finally descion…the man of the house or the women of the house?

In a new survey from Globalnews.ca, 99% of men say that a woman should NOT be in charge of making the final decision on a car for the family.  And normally that would be a good jumping off point for talking about how sexism is still alive and well in 2011.

Only it’s not.  Because women AGREE.
