‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes’ is Delayed, May Go Away Entirely
'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' came out less than three weeks ago, but box office-wise (at least domestically) it's done. Having made less than $30 million stateside, that number is less than half of the film's production budget. So it's no surprise that production company Constantin Films is delaying the start of the sequel 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes.'
‘Back to the Future’ Helmer Robert Zemeckis in Talks to Take on ‘Chaos Walking’
Though the latest round of Young Adult adaptations have mostly been misses ('Beautiful Creatures,' 'The Host,' 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones'), the success of the 'Twilight' and 'Harry Potter' adaptations means that Hollywood will keep returning to that well. Now the genre could produce its biggest (or at least most prestigious) title yet: Oscar winner Robert Zemeckis is in talks to helm
‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5′ is Being Bumped to Summer 2016
When Edgar Wright's 'Ant-Man' shuffled from November to July 2015 yesterday, there was a murmur it might either be to replace something or could cause a release date shuffle. The former appears to be the case as 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' is now moving to summer 2016.
Edgar Wright’s ‘Ant-Man’ Moves to Summer 2015
Though there's been no official casting announcements yet, Edgar Wright's 'Ant-Man' has moved up from its original release date of November 6, 2015 to July 31, 2015.
Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan Board James Dean-Based Film ‘Life’
Now that 'Twilight' is over, what's Robert Pattinson to do? It looks like his game plan is to be taken seriously as an actor, as he's been working with David Cronenberg, and is now set to star in 'Life' for Anton Corbijn, alongside 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' star Dane DeHaan.
‘RoboCop’ Trailer: “Dead or Alive, You’re Coming With Me”
A PG-13 'RoboCop' remake? That's what we're getting, and the first trailer plays up the familiar elements ("oh look, ED-209"), but also seems to put the focus on the role of free will in Alex Murphy (played by Joel Kinnaman), who becomes part man, part machine, and all cop.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Could be ‘The Fall Guy’ for McG
Of all the TV shows to be turned into movies, 'The Fall Guy' actually makes sense to translate to the big screen, so color us excited that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in talks to star in a big screen reboot with McG eyed to direct.
Community Season 5: ‘Justified’ Star Walton Goggins to Terrorize Greendale
What is it about 'Community' and great character actors? Recently we reported that The Greendale Seven Six (or possibly Five) will have to face 'Breaking Bad''s Jonathan Banks in the upcoming season, and now we've found out 'The Shield' and 'Justified' star Walton Goggins will have a guest spot in Season 5!
‘Gravity’ Trailer: Sandra Bullock Is Lost in Space
Now that the film has had a festival showing or two, Alfonso Cuaron's 'Gravity' is already the talk of the Oscar circuit. Considering the trailers make this look like an edge of your seat science fiction thriller, that must say something great about the movie. Here's the latest trailer, which plays up the film's incredible-looking special effects.
‘Man of Tai Chi’ Trailer: Keanu Reeves is Owed a Life
The directorial debut of Keanu Reeves, 'The Man of Tai Chi' seems like it should be a bigger deal. Is it that hard to sell "Neo directs a own kung-fu movie" to audiences? But like so many low budget films these days, it's going to premiere on Video on Demand later this month before getting a cursory theatrical release. You'd think there would be a market for such a film, but perhaps most
‘Transformers 4′ Poster Reveals Official Title, ‘Age of Extinction’
Yesterday we confirmed that the Dinobots, those transformers that also turned into dinosaurs, would be in 'Transformers 4.' What we didn't know then is how big a role they'd play and with the film's new title, it seems they're going to be a big focal point. 'Transformers 4' is now officially titled 'Transformers: Age of Extinction.'
‘Neighbors’ Red-Band NSFW Trailer: Seth Rogen Bumps Heads with the Frat Next Door
A young couple suffering from arrested development are forced to live next to a fraternity house after the birth of their newborn baby.
Bradley Cooper Offically Joins ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ as Rocket Raccoon
It's official! Bradley Cooper, star of 'The Hangover' films and 'Silver Linings Playbook,' has been cast as the voice of Rocket Racoon in the upcoming movie 'Guardians of the Galaxy.'
‘Thor 2′ Offers its First TV Spot
For the most part, comic book movies have stuck to summer release dates of late, so it will be interesting to see how 'Thor: The Dark World' fares this November. But of all the superheroes, Thor seems the most autumnal (perhaps it's the thunder). But we've now got the film's first TV spot, as the film opens in a little over two months.
‘Now You See Me 2′ Nabs Louis Leterrier to Direct
Now that summer is almost officially over, it's time to crown 'Now You See Me' as the biggest surprise hit of the summer. The film -- which wasn't based on a comic book, nor a sequel or prequel -- ended up making over a hundred million dollars domestically and nearly 300 worldwide. Lionsgate had already announced a follow up, but today director Louis Leterrier spilled that he will be returning to
Vin Diesel Talks About His Possible Role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’
Ever since it was announced that Vin Diesel was "in talks" to join 'Guardians of the Galaxy' as Groot, it seemed like the casting was a done deal and that it must have been the only reason that Diesel was meeting with Marvel (which he had teased weeks earlier). According to this recent interview, both assumptions are wrong.
‘Breaking Bad’ Star Aaron Paul Could Join Ridley Scott’s ‘Exodus’ Along with Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley and John Turturro
Ridley Scott's 'Exodus' is looking to have an all-star cast. Besides Christian Bale and possibly Joel Edgerton, Aaron Paul is now in negotiations to join the cast along with 'Iron Man 3' star Ben Kingsley, while 'Alien' alum Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro have officially signed on.
‘Scooby Doo’ to be Reanimated as a Feature Length Cartoon
Nostalgia strikes again! 'Scooby Doo,' the Saturday morning cartoon show that generated two live action movies (and then two TV movies), will be coming back to theaters, but this time as an animated film. So no Freddie Prinze Jr. in this one (sorry, Freddie Prinze Jr.).
Joss Whedon Throws His Supports Behind New Batman Ben Affleck
Though there is a sense of rivalry between the DC and Marvel movie universes (or at least jealously, which seems the only reason Warner Brothers was so desperate to make 'Justice League'), the people behind these films have no ill will towards their supposed competitors. 'Avengers' director Joss Whedon -- after a day where many disparaged the casting of Ben Affleck as the new Batman -- has thrown
‘Fast and Furious 7′ Adds Martial Arts Master Tony Jaa
Though it may lack the punch of the Ben Affleck in 'Man of Steel 2' casting news, 'Fast and Furious 7' has upped its ranks by getting Tony Jaa to join the film. For those who've never seen Jaa in action, this is a very good thing.
