TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Magic Valley emergency crews rescued a female BASE Jumper entangled in the Perrine Bridge Tuesday evening.

According to Twin Falls County Sheriffs spokesperson Lori Stewart, the jumper’s chute had become entangled in the bridge after a gust of wind blew Carla Jean Segil, age 26, of Big Bear, California into the bottom trestle. The call came in just after 5:30pm. Segil was dangling about 10 to 15 feet below the bridge.

Twin Falls Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics Special Operations Reach and Treat Team (SORT), Twin Falls County Search and Rescue all responded. A member of the SORT team was lowered over the rail to Segil, secured her to his rescue lines and then cut her out of her chute.  Search and Rescue team members on the catwalk below the bridge were able to pull the Segil to them.

The Segil was checked by medics and had not been injured. The rescue took about an hour and shut down both north bound lanes over the bridge. About 30 people helped in the rescued.
