‘Bates Motel’ Season 3: A&E Renews ‘Psycho’ Prequel for 2015
Welp, if you’re going to tell the story of a young Norman Bates growing up to become the ‘Psycho’ we all know and love, it wouldn’t make a terrible amount of sense to quit after the second season. A&E officially renewed Vera Farmiga‘s Norma and Freddie Highmore’s Norman for ‘Bates Motel‘ season 3, set to open up for business in 2015.
Premiering on March 3, the second season of ‘LOST‘ creator Carlton Cuse’s prequel drama brought in 4.6 million total viewers and continues to be A&E’s #1 drama series of all time among adults 18-49. Production will begin this fall on another 10 episodes to debut in early 2015. Says A&E EVP David McKillop of the ‘Bates Motel’ season 3 renewal:
The incredible writing team and talented ‘Bates Motel’ cast has made this series one of the most compelling original dramas on television. The brilliant twists and turns of the past two seasons keep its loyal fan base coming back for more. We are so proud of the show.
Still airing on Monday nights, the current ‘Bates Motel’ season added such stars as Michael Vartan (‘Hawthorne,’ ‘Alias’), Kathleen Robertson (‘Boss’), Paloma Kwiatkowski (‘Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters’), Rebecca Creskoff (‘The Practice,’ ‘Hung’), Kenny Johnson (‘Sons of Anarchy‘), Michael Eklund (’88 Minutes,’ ‘Supernatural‘) and Michael O’Neill (‘Dallas Buyers Club,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘The West Wing’).
Well, what do you think? Are you happy ‘Bates Motel’ will open for season 3 business next year, or should the show have taken an unfriendly shower after the second year?
