Big Ed Beckley Pays Almost a Million Dollars to Jump Snake River Canyon

Evel Knievel's failed attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon in Twin Falls back in 1974, may be repeated, but hopefully completed this time.  That is the hopes at least for Bridgeport, Texas native, Big Ed Beckley who submitted the winning bid this morning to gain the right to do just that, jump the Snake River Canyon.

During this morning's auction, Big Ed Beckley dropped a whopping $943,000 for the honor to attempt the jump.

According to KMVT-TV, Beckley's actual jump will occur in September of 2014, which is the fortieth anniversary of Evel Knievel’s Snake River Canyon Jump attempt.
