JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Golfers and staff at Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis encounter a hazard not seen on most golf courses. The course north of Jackson often has wild bison migrating through it this time of year. The course is near Grand Teton National Park and also the National Elk Refuge where some bison spend the winter. Course assistant superintendent Jeff Jensen tells the Jackson Hole News & Guide that about three dozen or so moved through the course over a day or two this spring. Jensen says the bison create more of a thrill than a problem for golfers although he says they can damage greens. If the bison become particularly troublesome the Wyoming Game and Fish Department is called to help move the beasts along to their summer ranges.
