BURLEY -- Investigators with the Cassia County Sheriff's Office say a man's body found in a crawl space of a Burley motel has become a homicide investigation.

The body of 54-year-old Russ Taft was found on May 18 under the office of the Alpine Garden Motel.  An autopsy Monday determined that Taft died from blunt force trauma to the head and a stab wound to the heart.

Taft was employed at the motel along with 55-year-old James Ambrose who is wanted for questioning in the death of Taft.  Ambrose is wanted in Cassia County for grand theft.  He was last seen in Las Vegas around May 7.

Authorities say Ambrose has numerous warrants in Nevada for kidnapping, robbery, burglary, battery and grand larceny.

Cassia County Sheriff Randy Kidd expects additional warrants to be issued for Ambrose in the near future.

Anyone with information about Ambrose's whereabouts is urged to contact the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office at 208-878-2252 or Crime Stoppers at 208-878-2900.
