A town in north Idaho had its worst fears confirmed Sunday. The Hecla Mining Company announced  they recovered the body of trapped miner, 53 year old Larry Marek. Hopes began to diminish Saturday when crews using bore holes and probes reached the area where they had hoped to find Marek, but found only sand and rubble.  Then Sunday afternoon, the mining company released a statement saying they had recovered Marek from the “15 stope” inside the Lucky Friday Mine in Mullan, Idaho.  Residents in Mullan say they feel the pain of every life lost underground.  Phil Baker, president of the Hecla Mining Company issued a statement vowing to find out what caused the collapse. Meanwhile the town says it will now focus on helping marek's family find healing.  The Lucky Friday Mine has been in operation for 69 years.  The company says the last fatality in the mine was 25 years ago.
