GRANGEVILLE, Idaho (AP) — Searchers have recovered the body of a 74-year-old Oregon fisherman who went missing after the drift boat he was in hit rocks and flipped in the Salmon River in western Idaho. Idaho County Sheriff Doug Giddings says the body of Lawrence Bates of Durkee, Ore., was found Tuesday about two miles downstream from where the boat flipped last Friday, south of Grangeville. The other occupants of the boat were able to swim to shore, but Giddings said Bates was not wearing a life jacket.
