Boil Order Lifted for Twin Falls School and Church

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - The city of Twin Falls has lifted the Boil Water order for Harrision School and a nearby church. Samples of potable water at those two facilities showed no indication of bacteria or harmful substances.

City workers closed Harrison Street between Wirsching Avenue and Meadows Lane at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 when an underground waterline ruptured. Only two buildings were affected, which included Harrison Elementary School and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Harrison Street.

No homes or other buildings were affected.  The waterline to the school and church was repaired, flushed, disinfected and tested Tuesday evening. Results of the tests showed no indications of harmful bacteria or substances in the water, so students and visitors to the buildings can again drink the potable water.

Workers are still trying to identify the cause of the broken waterline, which is located directly in front of Harrison Elementary School.
