BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Police in Boise say the brakes failed on a city passenger bus causing the driver to swerve through a parking lot before crashing into the Idaho Power corporate headquarters. The crash just after 6:30 yesterday morning left the front wheels of the bus hanging over the edge of an underground loading area. A city transit official says when the ValleyRide driver realized the brakes had failed, he swerved to miss cars stopped ahead of him. The bus collided with several parked cars, trees and light poles before hitting the building. A city transit official says there were between seven and 10 passengers on the bus, while police said there were up to 12. One woman with a pre-existing injury was taken to the hospital. Idaho Power spokeswoman Stephanie McCurdy says no one in the building was injured.
