BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Would you believe it if a retired Boise couple said they found $1 million under a bunch of bananas? Eugene and Hilly Penton swear it's true. That's where they keep their lottery tickets.

Eugene Penton purchased his ticket for the Sept. 14 Powerball drawing at the Jackson's store on Bogus Basin Road. However, the Pentons only check their tickets once a month. So in the meantime, they sit on the kitchen counter under a pile of fresh bananas.

They didn't learn they had a $1 million ticket until last Friday, when they checked their tickets at the store. They claimed their winnings on Tuesday. The Pentons say they plan to pay off their house, invest for their retirement and take their family on a vacation, maybe to Hawaii.
