MERIDIAN, Idaho (KLIX) – A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital Monday morning after hitting a vehicle on Interstate 84 near the Meridian exit ramp.

According to Idaho State Police, 31-year-old Loretta Drake, of Nampa, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze in the right lane. Boise resident Jacob Thurber, 25, was riding a 2005 Honda motorcycle when he initiated a lane change and struck the rear of Drake’s vehicle.

Thurber, who was wearing a helmet, according to ISP, was taken by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Drake was wearing a seatbelt and was not taken to the hospital.

The lane was partially blocked for about two hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
