BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Boise police officer who was responding to a call for backup from another officer collided with a sport utility vehicle at a city intersection.

Police say the officer was traveling south on a north-bound one-way street Tuesday morning when the car T-boned an SUV. The front of the patrol car was heavily damaged. A statement from police says the officer and the two people in the SUV were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.

Police believe the officer was using both his lights and siren, but Garden City police will investigate the officer's response and the circumstances surrounding the crash. The officer's name was not released.
