Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Police in Burley say a young girl was injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Overland Avenue at about 12:30 this afternoon. Reports indicate two girls were on the east side of the road near 24th street crossing to the west. Both had bicycles but police say they are not sure if they were riding or walking their bikes across the road.

There's no crosswalk in the area they were crossing, authorities say. Two vehicles in the outside lane had stopped for the children while a vehicle in the inside lane failed to stop. Police say the driver had thought the other cars were turning right and didn’t see the children.

The injured girl was transported to the local hospital with what police describe as some road rash, bumps and bruises. Police say there are continuing their investigation and will have more information soon. via www.kmvt.com
