Burley Man Dies In River Accident

Cassia County officials say a Burley man whose body was found along the banks of the Snake River east of Rupert drowned after being knocked unconscious when he hit his head on some rocks. The Times-News reports Kirk Shannon Armstrong was found dead Monday. The sheriff's report says it appears Armstrong was walking on some sandbags on the edge of the river when the sandbags gave way, causing him to fall down a steep slope and hit his head on the rocks.
