PROVO, Utah (AP) — Students at Brigham Young University say they hope to make the record books with a doughnut more than 1,300 feet long. The Daily Herald of Provo reports (http://bit.ly/Yu5lQT)students connected smaller pieces to form the 1,328-foot-long Cougar Tail. The maple-frosted doughnut bar is a BYU staple only available at basketball and football games. Students on Wednesday helped eat the treat, which snaked around long tables in a large room. The pastry was a product of the alumni association, the dining department, and students in a communications management class, who took on different roles coordinating the project. Student Amber Singh says participants are now assembling documents to submit to Guinness World Records. They say they're optimistic because there's no existing record for longest maple bar.
