Check this out: a B-25J WWI Bomber, “Maid in the Shade” is flying into Twin Falls on June 16, arriving at noon.  It’ll also be on display at MV Regional Airport June 16-23 for the public to tour, enjoy watching a flight, and talk with volunteers about its history and role in serving our country.

I’ll be visiting Pearl Harbor in just a few months, and cannot wait to see the aircraft responsible for bombing Tokyo just four months after Pearl Harbor.  My feeling is, like it or not, these instances were part of US history.  It’s a learning opportunity.

Revenue flights aboard the B-25 are available ($395 waist gunner, $650 flight deck), and serve to keep the aircraft flying as well as allow the organization to accomplish their mission.  For reservations, call 480-322-5503 or email b25rc@azcaf.org.

It’s all made possible by the Commemorative Air Force Airbase Arizona (a nonprofit). The organization is a flying museum staffed by volunteers, whose mission is to reconnect the public with living history… and SHOW veterans that we haven’t forgotten their sacrifices.
