CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — Police in Caldwell say a 58-year-old man was struck and killed by a train early on New Year's Day. The freight train was traveling through downtown Caldwell at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when it struck Randall Clay. Police aren't sure if it Clay accidentally or intentionally stepped in front of the Union Pacific freight train. The train was traveling 47 mph and took about four blocks to come to a stop. Caldwell Police are awaiting the results of toxicology tests to determine if Clay was impaired.
