Republicans now control 33 states across the country and are one short from calling a Constitutional Convention.

Fears are if the states call for the convention it’ll quickly devolve into a full blown rewrite of our precious founding document.

Some are pushing for the states to gather and create an amendment calling for a balanced federal budget (many states already have their own constitutions enshrining frugality).  The other option is for Congress to craft an amendment and then ask the states for a vote.  Fears are if the states call for the convention it’ll quickly devolve into a full blown rewrite of our precious founding document.  Already there are suggestions for an amendment outlining congressional term limits (Utah’s Mike Lee supports the idea).  This morning Twin Falls County Republican Chairman Steve Millington weighed in as well as many members of the audience.
