Canyon Ridge Has New Associate Principal

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Canyon Ridge High School has a new associate principal.

The Twin Falls School District Board of Trustees approved the hire of Scott Thompson at a special board meeting on Friday. Thompson replaces Mike Gemar, who accepted the position of director of Support Services for the school district.

“My passion has always been education,” Thompson said in a prepared statement. “I’m excited to get back to the Twin Falls School District and back to the kids.”

According to the district, Thompson has run his own education-based company since 2002. He worked for the Jerome School District, where he helped students through his Psycho-Social Rehabilitation program.

Prior to starting his own business, Thompson was a teacher at O’Leary Middle School, where he also coached football and wrestling. He also taught at Buhl High School. He has a degree in educational leadership from the University of Idaho, and a degree in secondary education from Boise State University.
