TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KTVB)- Authorities in Twin Falls are working to retrieve a body after a car plunged into the Snake River Canyon near the Perrine Bridge Sunday night. Jerome County Sheriff Doug McFall confirmed to KTVB that a 28-year-old female died in the wreck. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. McFall said it appears the woman, who was from California, took her own life. McFall said that so far their investigation has revealed that the vehicle was traveling along the north canyon rim when it went into the canyon, about a quarter mile east of the 480-foot high Perrine Bridge. Jerome County and Twin Falls County Deputies were on scene as part of the recovery operation, along with the Search and Rescue teams of both counties. Idaho State Police is also involved in the investigation.
