Carjacker to Be Sent Back to Idaho

HARDIN, Mont. (AP) — An Idaho carjacking suspect who was arrested in southeastern Montana will return to Idaho to face charges. The Big Horn County Attorney's Office says 36-year-old Rodney Seiber of Nampa, Idaho, appeared before District Judge Blair Jones in Hardin on Wednesday and waived his right to an extradition hearing.

Seiber was arrested on Sept. 28 in an outbuilding near Garryowen on Montana's Crow Indian Reservation after fleeing Montana law enforcement officers for three days. Officials had been looking for Seiber since Sept. 18, when he was suspected of threatening a welding supply company employee in Nampa before taking a company van.

He fled into a corn field after the van crashed. His whereabouts were unknown until a clerk at a Hardin motel reported trespassers on Sept. 23.
