SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — More than 80 of the nation's top political cartoonists will gather in Salt Lake City this week for workshops and brainstorming sessions. They'll cap off the event with a so-called "death match" at a Cartoons and Cocktails fundraiser at the Little America hotel Saturday night.

The Association of American Editorial Cartoonists kicks off the convention Thursday at The Leonardo, a contemporary museum. Many of the events are open to the public. Among those expected to show are Pulitzer Prize winners Matt Wuerker of Politico.com, Steve Benson from The Arizona Republic and syndicated cartoonist Patrick Oliphant.
