TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- The 2014 campaign season has gotten underway for at least one candidate. Idaho Falls lawyer Bryan Smith Formally announced his plans to challenge US Representative Mike Simpson for the second congressional district.

Smith toured southern Idaho on Thursday making stops in Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello and his home town of Idaho Falls. Smith made his announcement at Reeder Flying Service at the Twin Falls Airport to a small group of people. Smith says Representative Simpson is out of touch with his district and the Idaho People.

He believes in a leaner government that spends less. The son of a baker, Smith is a graduate of Brigham Young University and has been a practicing lawyer in Idaho Falls.
