Chobani Plans Sail Through Council

The Twin Falls city council gave Chobani yogurt a thumbs up last night with approval of a rezoning effort. I n order to build the planned plant, the 58 acre plot of land located at the southwest corner of Kimberly Road and 3300 East Road had to go from “commercial” to “heavy manufacturing”.  City council members approved the change as well as a height restriction allowance, that allows the company to build it’s plant up to 60 feet and silos up to 120 feet. The company announced it’s plans to build the new facility last Thursday. It’s expected to employee about 400 people once the plant is operational.
