Construction on Chobani's multi-million dollar yogurt plant in Twin Falls is officialy underway. Chobani officials as well as state and local officials attended a ground breaking ceremony at the planned facility’s site yesterday. Once completed the plant is expected to employ more than 400 workers. Chobani says it chose Twin Falls because of the region's milk production capacity and trainable workforce. According to the Idaho Reporter, the plant, estimated to cost the company at least $128 million, will receive $24 million in construction subsidies from the city and its urban renewal district. Chobani could also benefit from as much as $2 million in workforce development funds from the state.
