Our long national nightmare is over. Disney has finally cast its new 'Cinderella' for the upcoming live-action version of the classic tale -- Lily James of 'Downton Abbey.'

Disney has announced that they've found the right girl to wear the glass slipper in their new 'Cinderella' movie -- it's Lily James of 'Downton Abbey.' You may not be very familiar with James (we aren't, either) as her resume is quite short. She played Korrina in 'Wrath of the Titans' and Poppy in eight episodes of the Showtime series 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl.'

James joins previously announced cast member Cate Blanchett, who will be playing the role of evil stepmother in the film, which is being helmed by 'Thor' director Kenneth Branagh.

We're looking forward to seeing something new and different in this live-action re-telling of the classic fairytale about a young woman whose stepmother and stepsisters treat her like a maid, but an encounter with a fairy godmother gives her an enchanting evening she'll never forget, wherein she meets her Prince Charming and falls in love.

This isn't the first live-action take on the material -- there was the Lesley Ann Warren musical version from 1965 that aired on the Disney channel frequently, and 'Ever After: A Cinderella Story,' released in 1998 and starring Drew Barrymore in the role of pauper-turned-princess.
