Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The Twin Falls Parks and Recreation Department has announced the hiring of a new director, replacing long–time Director Dennis Bowyer.

Wendy Davis has been working for the Nampa Parks and Recreation Department for the past several years, but is no stranger to the Twin Falls area. A graduate of Twin Falls High School, Davis served as the first Aquatics Director for the Twin Falls City Pool, and as the Director of the Jerome Recreation District for five years.

Davis earned a Masters of Education from Idaho State University and currently serves as Recreation Program Supervisor for the Nampa Recreation Department. She has several years of experience developing recreation programs for diverse populations to encourage participation, as well as coordinating large community events. She brings to the job more than a decade of experience, as well as a proven track record of increasing community involvement in parks and recreation.

Davis will work alongside Bowyer for one week before beginning her new role. Bowyer will officially retire on June 26th. A retirement party will be held in his honor at 3 p.m. on June 24th at the Twin Falls City Park.
