-TV / KSVT-TV ) Construction work is set to get underway at Dierkes Lake next week.

The stairs on the east side of Dierkes Lake will be close for the next few months —– while the Twin Falls Parks and Recreation Department replaces some of the old steps.

The existing wooden stairs are being removed and replaced with a combination of metal and Trex decking that is estimated to last for the next 50 years.

In addition, two smaller sets of stairs will be constructed in the same area.

Once replaced, it will be easier and safer to walk around the lake.
