TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Construction on a new Idaho Power operations center is underway in Twin Falls.

The 26,000-square-foot facility, which will be constructed using energy-efficient measures and modern design, is scheduled to be finished by the end of the year, said company spokeswoman Julie Stutts.

The two-story building will replace the existing operations center on Blue Lakes Boulevard South that was built in 1951. Included in the design is a new access point to the facility’s equipment that will take heavy equipment out of traffic near the intersection at Blue Lakes and Kimberly Road.

The larger building also will be able to accommodate more than 100 employees.

“Once the new building is complete it will probably be like night and day for the people who work there," Stutts said in a previous interview. "I bet they are going to be thrilled.”
