Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KMVT-TV ) - Up to 20 head of loose cattle caused the Jerome County Sheriff’s office to close I-84 between exit 168 and 173 this Wednesday Morning. Jerome County Chief Deputy Sheriff Jack Johnson said that the portion of the freeway was closed for about 2 and a half hours following the report of cattle on the road at 1:52am.

The cows were originally running loose in the construction zone of the I-84 Highway 93 Junction. Deputies were able to place them in a fenced area. Unfortunately one of the head had to be put down because they were unable to contain it Johnson said.
