UPDATE 8:30 A.M.:

(Press Release)-On March 16, 2016 at approximately 6:05 AM, Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash westbound on I84 at mile marker 170, near Twin Falls.

 

Michael Oulman, 48, of Buhl, ID, was traveling eastbound on I84 in a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup.  Oulman lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, overturned in the median and came to rest blocking both westbound lanes of the interstate.  Oulman was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.  John Hawkins, 44, of Twin Falls, ID, was westbound on I84 in a 2006 International van, was unable to stop in time and collided with the pickup that was blocking the lanes of travel.  Hawkins was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.  Oulman was transported to Saint Alphonsus Hospital in Boise via air ambulance.

 

The westbound lanes of Interstate 84 were completely blocked for approximately 1.5 hours.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

UPDATE 7:45 A.M.: one westbound lane is now open. Traffic still slow going.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- A crash on Interstate 84 between Twin Falls and Jerome this morning.
According to Idaho State Police Dispatch a two vehicle crash at mile post 170 has all traffic westbound halted as of 6:05 a.m.. Travelers going west are being diverted off the interstate at the Twin Falls Exit 173. Eastbound traffic is still moving. Updates to come.
