TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Members of Canyon Ridge High School's Student Council are planning a remembrance ceremony on Wednesday for Vason Widaman, the student who was shot and killed near the school this past Saturday.

According to the Twin Falls School District, the council is asking that the school’s administration, staff and student body wear tie-dye shirts on Wednesday.

Council members will be setting candles at the school’s rock to honor the loss of their fellow Hawk. Anyone else wishing to leave flowers, candles, stuffed animals or other items at the rock is welcome to do so during lunch.

On Monday, the Twin Falls Police Department held a press conference asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in the shooting.

“So far we have received numerous tips and leads that we are currently pursuing,” Police Chief Craig Kingsbury said. “We believe that prior to the shooting, the victim was in the area of Canyon Ridge High School where several events were being held. Someone at these events may have seen something. …

“Any information — no matter how insignificant it may seem — will help our investigation. Often times, the smallest detail is the key to solving these types of cases. And so we are asking our citizens to revisit what they were doing just after 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.

"Did you notice a young man on a bicycle … He would have been wearing black shorts and black t-shirt. Did you see a dark colored vehicle near him? Did you see anything out of the ordinary that might be the key to solving this case?”

If you have any information, contact the Twin Falls Police Department at 735-4357 or Crime Stoppers at 732-5387. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
