DE SMET, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in northern Idaho say a crop duster pilot died Monday morning after his plane struck power lines and crashed into some trees.

The Benewah County Sheriff's Office says the man was thrown from the craft and died at the scene at about 7:45 a.m. near the town of De Smet.

Authorities tell KREM-TV that the Federal Aviation Administration is sending investigators to the scene.
