TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Todd Schwarz, executive vice president and chief academic officer of the College of Southern Idaho, has been appointed to the Idaho Workforce Council.

Members of the council, which was created in 1996 to provide strategic oversight of the state’s workforce development system, represent businesses, community-based organizations, education, state and local government entities, and workers.

A news release by the college reads:

According to council bylaws, the group’s primary role is to advise the governor and the State Board of Education on strategies designed to produce high quality workforce investment services for Idaho’s businesses, job seekers, and students.

One of the key accomplishments of the council was the creation of the Idaho Works Career Center System, which gives Idaho businesses, students, and job seekers an improved system of matching workers with jobs and expanding coordination among state and local workforce partners.
