Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) On July 31st, the College of Southern Idaho discovered financial irregularities that prompted an internal investigation and outside help from a forensic accountant.

"Just this week we turned over a lot of documents to the Twin Falls police department because we have been undergoing an internal investigation." Public Relations Director Doug Maughan explained, "we can't say too much right now because it is an ongoing investigation and because of the privacy rights granted to former and present employees." What they can say is the former employee in question had been with the college for quite some time and was a part of the business office. The nature of the separation is not clear.

Maughan added, "there are a couple things we want to point out to our patrons, our faculty, and our students. This isn't going to affect how we view the people important to us. Will it affect the way we do business? Absolutely. We already have some of those processes in place and a number more will change." Doug Maughan says this isolated incident will have no financial impact on student tuition, nor will it affect the long term success of the tuition. Maughan explained, "we feel we are just as much a victim of this as anyone. We put a lot of trust in our employees and we will continue to do so. We don't expect this will change our classes, our tuition.

CSI will continue to be solid after this incident." The name of the employee and the amount of money in question is not being released at this time.  Maughan says he expects the report will be made public soon.
