Rodeo was always a big part of Daniel Dopps' life. Anyone who knew Daniel, or even met him for the first time, realized he was a cowboy in every way.

Daniel died on August 7, 2005 from injuries sustained at a PRCA rodeo on August 6. He was only 19.

The night before he died, he lived one of his dreams. He had drawn D & H Cattle Company's bucking bull, Crossfire Hurricane at the Idaho Falls PRCA Rodeo. Just to have the chance to put his rope on this great bull had him on Cloud 9. Though he did not ride Crossfire for eight seconds, he sure gave him heck for about five.

After the loss of Daniel, a memorial rodeo was created to keep his spirit and dreams alive. The goal of this rodeo is to raise money for charitable donations within the community of Mountain Home, Elmore County and the State of Idaho.

The 6th Annual Daniel Dopps memorial Dodge PRCA Rodeo is June 23rd, 24th and 25th in Mountain Home, Idaho and coincides with Rodeo Days. It kicks off with a Rodeo Tailgate Party at El Rancho Park at 6pm, then rodeo action gets underway on the 24th with a Calf Scramble at 7pm. You can find a complete list of events and times on the Daniel Dopps Memorial Dodge PRCA Rodeo website.
