It doesn't matter if you're going on a first date or you're married and looking to spend some much needed quality time together.  "There's nothing to do" is no excuse not to get out and do something fun.  When look around, there's plenty to do in the Magic Valley.  Here are some thought starters that just scratch the surface.

Cedar Lanes
Cost:$3.60 per person, per game.  (Depending on when you go)
Shoe Rental: $2.75
I know. On the surface, it might sound kind of corny but it's one of the few things you can do where you can actually connect with your date. There’s also enough going on that you’ll avoid awkward silence. I took my wife to Cedar Lanes on our first date and we had a great time. For the record, I suck at bowling but that’s the beauty of the game. You don’t have to be good at it to have a good time. Whether you’re going on your first date or need a “date night” with your husband or wife, bowling gets two thumbs up.

1000 Springs Dinner Cruise
Cost: $58 per person
I’d reserve this for a special night out. Or maybe you’re trying to impress? The Hagerman Valley Scenic Dinner Cruises run year-round on a heated 52' Catamaran Cruiser. Lunch tours are also available with a lighter menu and a little cheaper at $46 per person. Both cruises last about 2 hours.

Basketball at The College of Southern Idaho
Cost: Around $6 for admission
Here’s one that’s really easy on the pocketbook but you can still have a great time. If you're lucky enough to find a date that likes sports, take in a game. Whether it’s a high school basketball game or a CSI home game, you’ll find that local sports are a refreshing change of pace… especially if you’re sick of all the politics and money that muddy pro sports. I’ll restate this: is SHE isn't into sports, don’t bother. You’ll loose points.

Pizza & a Redbox
Cost: $1 per rental
Pizza: Around $10 - $15
Rebox is the ultimate cheap date, if you can ditch the kids for a night. Here's a tip. Create an account at the Redbox website. You can search the movies that are available at locations close to you. Once you find the movie you want, you can reserve it. Just drive to the location, swipe your card and it will spit out your reservation.
If you live in Filer, check out Mama Lazagnas for the pie. They'll do delivery or take out. You can even save a buck or two if you opt for the take-n-bake.
